A Coweta, Oklahoma, man was killed when his car was rear-ended by a driver suspected to be under the influence of meth.<\/p>\n
Now, his family is left to mourn the man they said was dedicated to his wife of 22 years, their three daughters, his mother and the rest of the family. He also was a veteran of the Gulf War.<\/p>\n
Oklahoma state troopers said the 48-year-old victim<\/a> was driving his 2015 Volkswagen GTI on U.S. 412 outside Inola. He slowed down as he saw a crash in the westbound lanes.<\/p>\n Troopers said a 32-year-old man driving a 2001 Ford 150 truck rear-ended the Volkswagen. The older man was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.<\/p>\n “I never knew anybody like him,” the victim’s oldest daughter said<\/a>. “He was just special.”<\/p>\n “The world lost an amazing person, the most amazing,” his wife said.<\/p>\n The pickup driver was booked in the Rogers County Jail on charges of second-degree murder, driving under the influence, inattentive driving, possession of methamphetamine and driving with a suspended license.<\/p>\n The man, from Owasso, previously was convicted of driving under the influence, according to court records. He also has other DUI-related cases on his record.<\/p>\n A probable cause filing said a law-enforcement expert in drug recognition saw numerous indications the man was impaired: droopy eyelids, drowsiness and low, raspy speech.<\/p>\n This man’s family will miss him terribly.
